HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Earlville Community Historical Society held its first meeting in
March of 1986 in the Library Reading Room. The major function of the group
is to discover and collect any material, which may help to establish or
illustrate the history of the area, and provide for the preservation and
dissemination of historical information.
The meetings are held in the Library on the third Tuesday of each month
at 7pm. New members are always welcome.
The society houses its collection on the lower level of the newly renovated
Library building. This collection consists of:
- Local histories
- Earl plat maps
- Local historical documents
- Family histories
- Photo collections
- Cemetery records on microfilm
- Clothing, advertising items and other articles of local historical
significance
