Lego Club

Lego Club continues to meet once a month with leader and librarian Lacie Martin! Lego Club is open to kids in Kindergarten – 5th grades and requires NO SIGN UP. Walk-in one Wednesday of each month from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. and enjoy our Lego stash and other fun activities! 

Next meeting: Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 @ 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Rookie Readers

Rookie Readers, our 6-week Summer Reading program for K-5th Grades continues! Volunteer community members and librarians will read a few chapters from James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl on Tuesday mornings at 11:00 a.m. Then, we’ll engage our readers in fun activities and crafts until noon. Sign up is full for this event.

Also, keep reading at home and join our Summer Reading Incentive Program! Grab a book log, read books to earn points, and spend those points at the end of the Summer on cool prizes! Book Logs will be available starting Saturday, June 1st.

Summer Spirit Days

We’re celebrating Summer at our library with 6 themed Tuesday Spirit Days in a row! Stop by to see how your librarians have dressed for the occasion and feel free to join in! Rookie Readers attending our Tuesday program are also welcome to come dressed for our theme!

Preschool Story Time – Summer

Spend your Summer Tuesdays at the library with your 3-5 year-old and enjoy stories, crafts, and activities with Miss Nina!

Summer Reading Incentive Program

Pick up a book log starting June 1st and spend your Summer reading and logging points to spend in our Reading Store! Our Reading Store will be open BY APPOINTMENT July 15th – 24th for readers to bring in their book logs and spend their reading points!

Summer Giveaways Adults June/July 2024

Adults can spend 6 weeks this Summer earning entries for our gift baskets! We’ll have a new themed giveaway available every week to earn entries towards by making checkouts. Patrons are allowed one entry per day at checkout and may only win once during the 6-week Summer period.

The last two giveaways are the week of July 1 and July 8!

Adult Craft Night Adults July 15th, 2024

Join us in July for an in-person craft night! Nina Lopez will lead the evening in creating a set of DIY Floral Bookmarks. Spots are limited so sign up today!

Can’t make it to one of our in-person craft nights? Grab a craft kit from the library and craft at home on your schedule! We’ll have 4 different craft kit releases this Summer accompanied by a YouTube tutorial video so you can follow along from anywhere! Sign up soon – craft kits are only available while they last!

Summer Book Club at The Lounge! Adults June-August 2024

This Summer we’re bringing book club to The Lounge! Pop in to the library to grab your copy of our book club choice and join us for monthly meetings at The Lounge! Snacks are welcome but outside beverages are not permitted. Drinks will be available for purchase.

Meeting Schedule: 7p.m. – 8 p.m.

Helping Hats

Join our mission to make as many hats for donation as we can! We meet twice a month and use the library’s knitting machines, tools, and supplies to make warm weather accessories. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! We’ll teach you everything you need to know! Last year, we used our knitting machines to donate over 120 hats to people in need.

Explore More Illinois is a cultural pass program that provides discounts at museums, visual and performing arts centers, park districts, and more around the state. 

Adults 18 and older can login with a library card and PIN (last 4 digits of the library card number) and place reservations for attractions and specific dates.
