Rookie Reader CLUB (K-5th grade)

Sign up to participate in our 6-week Summer Reading program for K-5th Grades! Volunteer community members and librarians will read a few chapters from James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl on Tuesday mornings at 11:00 a.m. Then, we’ll engage our readers in fun activites and crafts until noon. Interested? Talk to a librarian!

Also, keep reading at home and join our Summer Reading Incentive Program! Grab a book log, read books to earn points, and spend those points at the end of the Summer on cool prizes! Book Logs will be available starting Monday, June 3rd. June3-July 9

Spirit Days (All ages- Tuesdays)

We’re celebrating Summer at our library with 6 themed Tuesday Spirit Days in a row! Stop by to see how your librarians have dressed for the occasion and feel free to join in! Rookie Readers attending our Tuesday program are also welcome to come dressed for our theme!

  • June 11th – Favorite Book/Character
  • June 18th – Favorite Decade
  • June 25th – Fairy Tale Day
  • July 2nd – Tacky day
  • July 8th – Christmas in July

Preschool Story Time

Spend your Summer Tuesdays at the library with your 3-5 year-old and enjoy stories, crafts, and activities with Miss Nina! Sign up today! 815-246-9543 Parents must accompany children.

Lego Club (K-5th grade)

Lego Club continues to meet once a month with leader and librarian Lacie Martin! Lego Club is open to kids in Kindergarten – 5th grades and requires NO SIGN UP. Walk-in one Wednesday of each month from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. and enjoy our Lego stash and other fun activities! June 5

 

Mendota area senior services (MASS) (seniors)
A representative from Mendota Area Senior Services will be at the Earlville Library District on April 17th @ 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. to assist seniors or individuals with disabilities with Benefit Access, Medicare, Medicare D, and Public Aid. Seniors can also find guidance regarding agencies that can help allow individuals to remain as independent as possible.

Summer Giveaways (adults)

Spend 6 weeks this Summer earning entries for our gift baskets! We’ll have a new themed giveaway available every week to earn entries towards by making checkouts. Patrons are allowed one entry per day at checkout and may only win once during the 6-week Summer period. Begins June 3

In-Person Craft Night (adults)

Join us in June for an in-person craft night! Nina Lopez will lead the evening in creating a set of Alcohol Ink Coasters. Spots are limited so sign up today! 815-246-9543

Craft Bags (adults)

Can’t make it to one of our in-person craft nights? Grab your craft kit from the library and craft at home on your schedule! We’ll have 4 different craft kit releases this Summer accompanied by a YouTube tutorial video so you can follow along from anywhere! Sign up soon – craft kits are only available while they last!

Helping Hats (adults)

Join our mission to make as many hats for donation as we can! We meet twice a month and use the library’s knitting machines, tools, and supplies to make warm weather accessories. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! We’ll teach you everything you need to know! Last year, we used our knitting machines to donate over 120 hats to people in need. Meeting Schedule: 6:00p – 8:00p June 12th, June 26th, July 10th, July 31st, August 14th, August 28th
